FOUNDER‘S NOTE

The Saffron Tree emerged from years spent mastering structure, scale and craft. Formally trained at Pearl
Academy of Fashion, my foundation was rooted in fashion and structural clarity. My journey progressed
through global sourcing houses, where I learned the discipline of international production – precision,
compliance and the rigour of global standards.

In 2006, I met Yoana Baraschi, a designer distinguished by lineage and uncompromising craft depth.
Our collaboration became a shared pursuit of translating intricate vintage surface ornamentation into
contemporary silhouettes, balancing sculptural structure with artisanal precision.
From that alignment, The Saffron Tree took root in 2007.

The house evolved into a trusted manufacturing partner to internationally retailed luxury labels, built
largely through reputation and word of mouth. Working closely with internationally recognised designers
refined not only our technical standards, but our aesthetic discipline. The house grew into a skilled
ecosystem of artisans and technical operators, contributing to employment and economic growth.

As a first-generation entrepreneur, building this enterprise demanded conviction and sustained discipline,
navigating global expectations while strengthening local capability. It remains the most defining chapter
of my professional life.

At its core was a singular pursuit: to carry Indian craftsmanship into the world’s most demanding
luxury markets, not as nostalgia, but as contemporary excellence.
